OLONGAPO CITY – Inspired by the principles: pro-Philippines, pro-poor and pro-environment, local entrepreneur here opens Human Nature branch and joins the family of Gandang Kalikasan, Inc, which helps poor communities help themselves.

Human Nature is the only brand in the country that provides the widest range of affordable, locally-made natural and organic personal care products from the safest and purest natural ingredients found in the country.

“Human Nature” is about loving our country; taking care of the environment and loving our families by providing effective and affordable organic and natural personal care products,” said couples Michael and Hannah Daryl Bilog, Branch Operators of Human Nature in Olongapo City.

Finally, residents of this city and the surrounding areas can enjoy 100% Philippine-made natural and organic products by visiting the branch along Magsaysay Drive going to the Subic Bay Freeport zone.

“When we started planning of putting our own business, we consider the one that will also help other people,” Michael said.

Based on the information gathered, during the early state of Human Nature, it employs Gawad Kalinga residents as part of their full time staff.

As the company grows, it started developing Human Nature Organic demo farm in a Gawad Kalinga community in Bulacan, providing prosperity to the Filipino communities through successful and sustainable social enterprises and quality natural products.

Gandang Kalikasan Inc. was the brainchild of Gawad Kalinga volunteers Anna Meloto-Wilk and husband Dylan Wilk, the successful British multi-millionaire who gave up his fast cars and wealthy lifestyle in England to help build up Filipino communities through Gawad Kalinga, and Camille Meloto. All three were exposed early onto the harsh realities of poverty in the Philippines.

Anna’s passion for the environment led her to use cloth diapers after reading that it takes 500 years for disposable diapers to biodegrade, while Camille has already experimented with cosmetics as early as elementary. Her longing to merge her passion for cosmetics and her conscience to help the country was still waiting to be fulfilled.

Anna and Dylan spent a year in the United States between July 2007 and June 2008, where Dyland was setting up a network of volunteers for Gawad Kalinga.

After coming back to the Philippines, they continued to look for resources to get their idea of bringing affordable, locally-made natural beauty products to Filipinos and they collaborated with a natural formulator to come up with Human Nature.

“We believe that Filipinos can produce world-class finished goods. And we know that with Human Nature, every centavo of our little investment will surely help Filipinos that grow herbs that are being used as ingredients for our products,” Hannah Bilog said.
