CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The stolen accessories of the images of the Señor Jesus Narazeno and Santa Marta at the San Guillermo Parish, Bacolor, Pampanga have been recovered by the police on Jan. 7.
“Na-retrieved na po ang nawawalang religious materials sa ating San Guillermo Parish. Inihahanda na po ito para isauli sa ating Simbahan,” posted Bacolor Mayor Diman Datu in his FB page. “Congrats po sa ating kapulisan sa pangunguna ni Maj. Jessie James Domingo sa mabilis na action na within six hours nahuli na ang kumuha.”
Police said a 12-year-old child confessed to getting the items on two separate occasions after allegedly hearing a voice commanding the suspect to wear the accessories.

Set to be returned to San Guillermo parish priest Fr. Ted Valencia were the recovered items comrising the crown of thorns, wig, and red velvet cincture of the Señor Jesus Narazeno and the wig, tiara, earrings, keys, handkerchief, and vestment of Santa Marta sewn by foremost Kapampangan couturier Mak Tumang.

Reports said the parish church will not pursue any legal action against the suspect who will be referred to the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
