BALANGA CITY – Gas stations of Shell and Total here are running out of stock that, if no delivery is made, will last only until Wednesday afternoon, a round of the gas stations Tuesday showed.

On the other hand, the Petron gas station said its supply of petroleum products has been cut by almost 20 percent. Petron has its oil refinery in Limay, Bataan.

The Shell gas station has a stockpile as of Tuesday afternoon of 2,000 liters of unleaded gasoline, 2,000 liters of premium gasoline, 2,000 liters of regular gasoline and 8,000 liters of diesel fuel.

Station attendants said they will run out of stock of gasoline Tuesday night while their diesel fuel will last only until Wednesday afternoon. They said delivery of supply that was scheduled Monday failed. They were not sure when the next delivery will be.

The Total gas station has in its tanks 3,500 liters of diesel fuel, 4,800 liters of Protec (gasoline) and 6,000 liters of unleaded gasoline that attendants said were good only until yesterday.

They said their supplier has failed for two times and if it will not materialize on Wednesday, it will be the third failed delivery.

Efren Bacani, owner of Petron gas station, said Petron used to give them what ever volume of petroleum products they ordered.  But he said the company has changed its policy since last week of October. “Weekly allocation na lamang ang ibinibigay nila sa amin na bumaba ng 20% kesa dating nakukuha namin,” he said.

The businessman said they suffered losses when the price of diesel was rolled back by P2 per litter and gasoline by P1.25 a liter based on President Gloria Arroyo’s executive order.

Two Caltex gas stations in Balanga said they still have enough supply of gasoline and diesel fuel.
