Star Awards For Music features noted entertainment personalities

    NOTED SINGERS, composers and other top celebrities of the Philippine music industry are expected to gather and lend glitter to the annual PMPC Star Awards for Music this Sunday, September 14, 2014, starting at 7PM, at the Grand Ballroom of the Solaire Resort and Casino, in Paranaque City.

    Now on its 6th year, the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC), in cooperation with Airtime Marketing, Inc., has prepared another exciting and star-studded awards program showcasing an impressive line-up of performers.

    To perform for the Opening Number are the nominees for the category Song of the Year, with excerpts from each nominated song: Abra, with Gayuma, Basilyo (Lord, Patawad), Sarah Geronimo (Ikot), Gloc 9 (Magda), Kris Lawrence (Ikaw Pala) and Jonalyn Viray (Help Me Get Over). Another nominee, Angeline Quinto (for Nag- Iisa) is presently out of the country and will not be able to participate in the show’s opening number.

    Maja Salvador, who will host the ceremonies with seasoned actor Jake Cuenca and award-winning balladeer, Christian Bautista, will lead a dance exhibition, while Mr. Pure Energy himself, Gary Valenciano, will sing a duet with daughter, Kiana Valenciano.

    This year’s Star Awards for Music is also giving two Lifetime Achievement Awards, named after the Philippine Music Industry’s great artists, namely, Asia’s Queen of Songs, Ms. Pilita Corrales, and National Artist for Music, Levi Celerio.

    To receive the Parangal Levi Celerio is ‘Maestro’ Ryan Cayabyab. To sing in the Tribute number are Ms. Celeste Legaspi, Christian Bautista and the Ryan Cayabyab Singers (RCS) To receive the Pilita Corrales Lifetime Achievement Award is internationally-renowned and multi-awarded musical artist, actor and television host, Ms. Lea Salonga.

    A special tribute number for Ms. Lea will be performed by Ms. Pops Fernandez and the Final Four (4) of The Voice Kids: Darren (Espanto), Juan Karlos (Labajo), Darlene (Vibares) and Lyca (Gairanod).
