OLONGAPO CITY (PIA) — Social Security System (SSS) visited a total of 10 delinquent employers in Olongapo City.

This is part of its Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) Campaign, which aims to remind non-compliant employers in paying their obligations to the state-owned firm.

Olongapo Branch Head Marites Dalope said SSS currently offers a new program for delinquent business and household employers, the Contribution Penalty Condonation, Delinquency Management, and Restructuring Program.

“Through CPCoDe MRP, delinquent employers can pay the unremitted contributions of their employees, less penalties, through a one-time payment or installment term,” she explained.

Delinquent employers are given 15 days from receipt of the order to coordinate with SSS Olongapo and if there is no compliance, they will be given a demand letter.

Another 10 days will be given to the employers to comply with the demand letter and failure to comply during the period will prompt SSS to file a case in violation of Republic Act 11199 otherwise known as the Social Security Act of 2018 to the Prosecutor’s Office.

The sanction provided by law against employers who do not comply with their obligations is imprisonment of six years and one day up to 12 years. (CLJD/RGP PIA-3)
