CLARK, Pampanga– The membership expansion of the Social Security System (SSS) gained another significant stride as the SSS and Clark Development Corporation (CDC) sealed an agreement that will give social security protection to CDC’s job order (JO) and contract of service (COS) workers.

SSS Executive Vice President for Branch Operations Sector Voltaire P. Agas said that CDC’s workers who are not covered by the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) will be registered as SSS self-employed members, while regular employees may opt to continue their contribution payments as voluntary members.

Agas reaffirmed SSS’s commitment to its members, stating, “Sa SSS, may forever,” which highlighted the crucial role of SSS membership in ensuring every worker’s lifelong security.

He emphasized the significance of regular contribution payments to ensure eligibility for various SSS benefits, loan privileges such as salary and calamity loans as well as Employees Compensation (EC) benefits in the event of work-related contingencies.

“Members’ contribution is translated to equitable access to various benefits in times of need, including sickness, maternity, disability, retirement, death and funeral, and death,” Agas said.

Furthermore, Agas emphasized that higher contribution payments lead to greater benefits, making it a valuable investment in one’s future.

Through the partnership, SSS commits to provide “Serbisyong Mapagkakatiwalaan at Proteksyong Maaasahan,” Agas added.

CDC President and Chief Executive Officer Agnes VST Devanadera concluded the ceremonial event by recognizing the SSS-CDC partnership. “For our employees, this effort is not merely a coincidence but a result of the joint endeavor of both SSS and management, aimed at ensuring the best for those who may fall through the cracks,” she said.
