CLARK FREEPORT – Real-time posting of members’ contribution payments is now being implemented by the Social Security System (SSS).
Gloria Corazon M. Andrada, SSS OIC-vice president for Central Luzon Division 2, said members should first register in the agency’s website at www.sss.gov.ph.
The purpose is to immediately posts their contributions after validation of their payments, Andrada explained during the media forum “News@Hues” organized by the Pampanga Press Club in cooperation with Park Inn Hotel by Radisson Clark here on Tuesday.
Andrada was with Normita M. Cruz, SSS branch head at Marquee Mall in Angeles City, as guests in the forum.
She said the real-time posting of contributions (RTPC) is for all SSS members – employers, including self-employed, voluntary members and overseas Filipino workers. She reiterated that members need to first register in the website and every time they pay, they need to present their payment reference number (PRN) that they can get upon registration to my.sss in the website.
“So, we are hoping the real time posting on contributions would also hasten the payment of benefits to the members,” she said.
The RTPC is being implemented in order to avoid unposted contributions, including delays in the posting of contributions, she added.
Andrada said all paying members should register now. For the self-employed and voluntary members, Andrada said they will receive a text message if they are already registered or if they have updated their contact information with the SSS.
For those who have no access to the internet, Andrada said SSS branches are open to assist members in their registration.
“So, we have our E-centers in our branches to help them out,” she said.
“It is only very simple. We need to undergo the process of registration and with their succeeding payment, they will be issued a PRN either by text or through e-mail,” she added.
“With the implementation of the PRN, the multiple steps needed to post payments is no longer needed because now it is only with securing the PRN and automatically after payment, it will also be posted in the individual records of their employees,” she explained.
“The RTPC will make it easier for the employer to comply with their payments and reporting of requirements,” she added.
The RTPC is a mandatory requirement of the SSS. In order to generate the PRN, employers need to update their statement of accounts.
The SSS has nine branches in Central Luzon Division 2 – six in Bulacan, two in Pampanga and one in Olongapo City.
Nationwide, there are about 36 million active members of SSS. Cruz said in Angeles City and Clark, there are about 10,000 SSS-member employers while in Central Luzon it’s 37,000 employers as of December, 2017.
This comes after the Social Security Commission (SSC), the policy making body of the pension fund, approved the policy amendments, system and procedural enhancements and resource requirements for the implementation of the electronic collection system.
All SSS branch tellering facilities and nonbank payment partners have begun implementing real-time posting of SSS contribution payments since Jan. 16.
The electronic system would allow faster processing of claims to help members and their benefi ciaries receive proper benefits and loan proceeds on time.
