MEYCAUAYAN, Bulacan–The Social Security System (SSS) offered special programs to pandemic-hit employers during the Relief Afforded to Challenged Employers (RACE) Campaign today, May 12, 2022.
Six employers under SSS Meycauayan Branch received written notices for failure to remit the contribution of their employees which is a violation of Republic Act 11199 or the Social Security Act of 2018. As stated in the order, they were given a non-extendable 15 days to comply, otherwise appropriate legal actions will be taken against them.
“The purpose of this campaign is to send a message that SSS is here to deliver the best services by providing accurate benefits to its employed members from the private sector. We can only do this if our employers are paying the right contributions for their workers,” said SSS Vice President for Luzon Central 2 Division Gloria Corazon M. Andrada.
SSS Meycauayan is expected to collect P3.8 million worth of unpaid contributions and accumulated penalties from the identified delinquent employers who were visited during the campaign.
“SSS deeply understands the plight of our employers during this pandemic. To ease their financial burden, we are offering Pandemic Relief and Restructuring Programs (PRRP) which provide condonation on penalties and option to settle their delinquency in flexible payment terms,” Andrada added.
The PRRP 2 or Condonation of Penalties on Social Security Contributions Program is offered to employers with delinquencies from the applicable month of March 2020 and onwards. This program will run until May 19, 2022.
Meanwhile, employers who have no means to immediately settle their past-due SS and Employees’ Compensation contributions may avail of the PRRP 3 or the Enhanced Installment Payment Program, which offers flexible payment terms ranging from nine to 60 months, depending on the total amount of delinquency. Qualified applicants may apply until November 22, 2022.
