BALANGA CITY — The provincial office of the Social Security System here expected more people to be served face-to-face after the province was categorized under Alert Level 1 starting March 1.

Janette Bunsoy, SSS–Bataan acting assistant head, said on Saturday that a slight increase in the number of walk-ins has already been recorded during the first week of March but they expected more to avail themselves of the agency’s services in the coming days.

With the relaxation of restrictions, senior citizens have already been allowed to come personally to the SSS office.

“Presently, we serve an average daily of from 600 to 700 walk-ins from Monday to Friday. Basta nakapila, inaasikaso namin sila,” Bunsoy said.

Services offered in SSS–Bataan are applications for membership, updating of beneficiaries and contact numbers, applications for united multi-purpose ID and death and other claims and tellering or receiving of payments.

Aside from walk-ins, SSS continues to accept online transactions.

Bunsoy reminded their clients to wear face mask and observe social distancing when going to their office.
