BALANGA CITY — The Diocese of Balanga has set for Tuesday, Jan. 19, a recitation of the Holy Rosary and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist for medical frontliners in a new Catholic shrine in Orani, Bataan.

They will also be treated for dinner at the Santuario Diocesano dela la Sagrada Familia, a beautiful 1.7-hectare shrine at the foot of Mt. Natib in Barangay Tala, Orani.

“This is in appreciation and acknowledgement of the services and sacrifices of our medical frontliners in this time of the coronavirus pandemic. We accompany them with our prayers and Holy Masses,Bataan Bishop Ruperto C. Santos said, adding that they implore Almighty God to keep the frontliners safe, strong and secured.

Santos said they are opening the Santuario for the medical frontliners “to show our gratitude and express our solidarity through the constant kindness of former Secretary of National Defense Norberto Gonzales and family.”

Gonzales, also former National Security Adviser, built the shrine that will expand to more than 500 hectares, all donated to the Bataan diocese.

“Maraming salamat sa ating mga medical frontliners dahil sa kanilang paglalaan ng panahon, talino at pagtataya na rin ng kanilang buhay, at tayo ngayon ay malakas, malusog pa rin sa kalusugan at higit sa lahat ay ligtas at buhay,” the prelate said.

The program on Tuesday will start with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 5 p.m., followed by the Holy Eucharist at 5:30 p.m. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m.
