IBA, Zambales – A Toyota Hi-Lux (WPY 829) owned by Congressman Antonio Diaz of the 2nd District of Zambales exploded while parked at the house of his secretary on Monday at Purok 5, barangay Salaza, this town, police said.
Initial investigation conducted by Palauig Police Station led by Senior Inspector Jaime Morete, disclosed that at Glenn Elayda y Jalata, 45, and the solon’s family heard an explosion at their garage at about 2:40 a.m.
They saw the front portion of the Hi-Lux was on fire.
According to Elayda, they saw a person outside their fence escaping heading toward the National Highway to unknown directions.
Recovered from the scene of the crime include one Molotov bomb as incendiary device made of mineral plastic container measuring more or less nine inches tall.
Report said that the device used (Molotov Bomb) was thrown by the suspect one meter away from the said vehicle.
The Palauig police are still conducting investigation to the motive and identity of suspect.
