OLONGAPO CITY – Two House resolutions were filed on Aug. 30 seeking investigation on the high cost of electricity provided by two power cooperatives and this city’s electric company.

Zambales 1 st District Rep. Jefferson "Jay" Khonghun, through HR Nos. 324 and 325, requested the House committee on energy to conduct investigation of the Olongapo Electric Distribution Company (OEDC) and Zambales Electric Cooperative, Inc., I and II. (Zameco I and II).

HR No. 324 said the OEDC increased the electricity charge of its consumers from P17.22 per kilowatt hour for the month of July to P17.76 per kilowatt hour for the month of August.

Both Zamecos are listed as non-stock, non- profit electric cooperatives in the province of Zambales.
