CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Filipino children are expected to benefit from Sony Ericsson and SM Supermalls’ Spread The Smiles campaign under UNICEF’s educational programs.

“With Spread The Smiles, we at Sony Ericsson recognize our nature as a people who smile through adversity, and smile through change,” said Dennis Manzano, Sony Ericsson general manager.

The nationwide campaign aims to collect a million digital smile photos through Smile Booths located in SM Supermalls and to raise funds for the benefit of UNICEF.

Each smile photo taken at the booth will be equivalent to a P1 donation to UNICEF.  For a P20 donation at the booth, the donor gets a souvenir photo courtesy of printing partner Digiprint, while another photo will be posted on the Smile Wall. The donor also gets a raffle coupon for a chance to win the 3.2-megapixel Sony Ericsson C510 Cyber-shot phone.

“This time we are here to smile for our children. We are grateful and honored that SM Malls across the country have joined us for this cause, and for Digiprint as our printing partner.  Through UNICEF, we can spread the smiles to our children,” he added.

At least nine SM malls are joining the campaign with Smile Booths and Smile Walls set up on different dates during the campaign period. These include SM North EDSA, SM Megamall, SM Mall of Asia, SM Cebu, SM Davao, SM Iloilo, SM Pampanga. SM Baguio and SM Manila.

SM City Pampanga PR Officer Roselle O. Sarmiento said they organized on June 9 a special media launch attended by print and broadcast journalists in Pampanga.

“They shared their beautiful smiles for UNICEF. Each were able to have their photos taken by the Smile Hunters and were posted in the Smile wall,” Sarmiento said.
