Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija – A young Novo Ecijano designer Erjohn Dela Serna takes pride in winning Bb. Pilipinas Best in National Costume Award now displayed at SM Megacenter from July 16 to 31.
The winning masterpiece was worn by a Novo Ecijano beauty queen represented by Binibini 18 Dra. Ruth Erika Quin during the national pageant Bb. Pilipinas 2021 last July 11 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
“When it was announced, I felt so grateful and overwhelmed because the journey is not easy. I’m so happy to bring home the pride to my fellow Novo Ecijanos” said Dela Serna.
This National Costume in its full glory and beauty. It inspires the green and golden fields of Nueva Ecija embodied in one attire, adorned with a manifold of beads to represent the grains, the design is more than just the province, this is the Filipinos – culture, tradition, and daily life.
“My team and I bring the very backbone of our country to the Bb. Pilipinas stage. Agriculture, and one of the most important crops – rice or palay. This is also a tribute to the hardworking, dedicated, and strong farmers who are the reason why we have food in our tables. Their life’s work may be underappreciated by others, but they are as important as any other profession in the world” Bb. Ruth Quin said.
SM Megacenter gave the honor and recognition to these young achievers as they became the catalyst to tell the country and the world about the beauty of the province of Nueva Ecija through their beauty, talent, dedication and wonderful creation.
Aside from the NatCos, other Dela Serna’s creations worn during the pageant were also displayed at the upper ground level exhibit area of the mall.
