CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – SM City Pampanga, the country’s longest contiguous mall, is adopting Disneyland Park’s famous avenue for its yearly Christmas traditions which will be unveiled today.
SM Pampanga, which has 470 various businesses and 10 affiliates in some 130,000-square meter floor area, will launch its take of the holiday season with favorite Christmas traditions as seen on Disneyland Main Street called Glitter Avenue.
SM Pampanga, the biggest shopping mall in North Luzon launched in November 2000, said its 2012 Yuletide theme is designed to resemble the center of a turn-of-the-century American town.
The vintage-deco themed land stands 24 feet in height, 22 feet in width and 28 feet in depth.
Adorned with traditional Christmas icons like Santa Clause, Nutcracker, Christmas trees, garlands and bright lights all in attractive jewel-toned finish, added SM in a statement.
Walk around the tiled-effect street and appreciate holiday-toned store signage on each shop representing retail stores available in the mall.
Surrounded by fun and brightly designed carts from mall tenants to sell gifts suitable for Kris Kringles – all available for shoppers to purchase.
The magic unfolds as Liza Macuja-Elizalde and Ballet Manila perform a dream-like piece from the classic The Nutcracker. Traditional Christmas icons come together and present a prodigious backdrop perfect for photo opportunities which shoppers may enjoy from today until January 2013.
The unveiling of Glitter Avenue centerpiece is happening today at 5p.m. at the SM City Pampanga Annex 3 (near Racks and Fortune Tea House). The event promises quite a sight as government and private officials, mall administration and even shoppers join the merriment.
SM Pampanga said it will highlight the joyous celebration with the Bears of Joy where mall goers may adopt cute little teddy bears for only P100 and hang the bear on the Christmas Bear Tree.
A Donation Certificate will be given to acknowledge generous sponsors while proceeds of the program, together with the cute bears, will be donated to charitable institutions nationwide.
To cap off the merriment, a Meet and Greet with Santa Claus at the Glitter Avenue launch and a walk up the grand Gazebo for photo opportunity to make the memories last forever.
“Christmas fill the air at SM City Pampanga. Come and experience a whole new Holiday feeling with Glitter Avenue only at your favorite mall and the Longest in the Philippines, SM City Pampanga. This is surely for the whole family,” said the SM statement.
On Saturday, SM City Clark will launch its own version of Christmas theme. On Sunday, SM City San Fernando will also reveal its 2012 Yuletide project to boost the image of the SM Prime Holdings’ newest mall in Pampanga which opened last July.
