Olongapo City Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr together with the city council welcomes and completely supports this project in line with the city government’s renewable energy program.

Antonio B. Lerma. Assistant Mall Manager for Operation said, supporting the community and caring for the environment, the SM City Olongapo Central and Downtown continue to uphold the commitment to our community, the city and the entire region.

“This launch for E-vehicle charging stations is in support of the government’s National Renewable Energy Program. Customers are able to use our EV charging station for free,” Lerma said

SM Prime through the leadership Disaster Residence Champion Hans Sy has always been about sustainability and innovation.

Here at SM City Olongapo Downtown apart from efforts across SM Prime on solid waste management and water conservation, we commence in supporting massive coastal clean-up efforts in the city through the City Environment and Natural Resources Office  and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Lerma said.

Through this, we hope to attract more Filipinos and more sectors of our society to make the smarter choice of going electric, he added.

This initiative is also part of the SM Green Movement.

It is SM Group’s commitment to help make the planet greener through programs such as this.

The timely launch of these in-mall E-vehicle charging stations supports the recently passed EV law that aims to reduce the country’s reliance on imported fuel and gradually shift to renewable sources of energy to protect the well-being of the people from pollution and the greenhouse effect.

Together at SM, we made our commitments happen and we will continue to work together for a more sustainable , resilient and environmentally caring community of Olongapo City  in the years to come, Lerma concluded. (Malou Dungog)
