BALANGA CITY– SM City Bataan lighted up its captivating Christmas centerpieces coupled with the presentation of a magical journey at the ground floor of its supermall in this component city Saturday night.
Mallgoers were treated to a delightful Christmas celebration featuring the playful and festive Gnome starry town.
Before the lighting countdown, the new SM Christmas jingle sang by Jose Marie Chan filled the air.
A lighted 25-foot Christmas tree adorned with red Christmas balls and stars stood out from among other fascinating holiday display at the mall event center.
As the area was flooded with multi-colored lights, dancers entertained mallgoers who queued at the ground floor and the corridors at the second floor. A big man dressed as Santa Claus added color to the festivity.
Paula Gayeta, SM City Bataan public relations officer, said SM Supermalls aimed to offer a joyful world of the longest, brightest and happiest holiday celebration for everyone.
SM City Bataan assistant mall manager Mark Joriel De Leon said that Saturday’s lighting of the Christmas décor marked the launch of their much-awaited Christmas season at the Bataan mall.
He said that as early as September 17, they have launched their annual “100 Days of Christmas Surprises” countdown and have begun surprise-filled shopping, dining and entertaining experiences for all mallgoers.
“This year, we give you sparkling new centerpieces, holiday bazaars and toy fairs, cinema holiday blockbusters, sales, deals, food and fun,” De Leon said.
He explained that they are doing all these things because the true meaning of Christmas is joy, that is celebrating with loved ones, giving gifts and sharing with others who are less fortunate.
“That is exactly what we want you to feel, to be joyful and to give you the opportunity to share the spirit of joy. With just a few weeks away from Christmas, we begin our ‘Bears of Joy’ campaign, where we can actually share joy to kids who need joy,” De Leon said.
He said that for each toy bear bought, another will be donated to a community or charity in need. “When we bring these bears to charities in the community, we bring you with us in spirit for which we thank you.” Photos: SM-PR
