BALANGA City, Bataan: SM City Bataan for the first time celebrated International Dog Day with the participation of 30 furry creatures of different breeds held at the Event Center of its mall here on Saturday, August 26.
The canine pets so well-behaved in the arms of their owners were first blessed with Holy Water by Catholic priest Fr. Alwin Bobis, Parochial Vicar of the Cathedral – Shrine Parish of Saint Joseph in Balanga City.
“Ang mga asong ito ay bahagi ng ating buhay, ng ating pamilya. Ang mga pets na ito ay very, very loyal na kahit sigaw-sigawan mo, babalik sa iyo. Mahal na mahal natin sila kaya i-bless natin sila,” Fr. Bobis said.
Later, the dog owners were given some pet treats free.
Paula Erika Gayeta, SM City Bataan public relations officer, said all dog enthusiasts, whether a proud dog owner or simply a dog lover, were all welcome in the celebration at SM Supermalls.
