BALANGA CITY – All roads in Bataan led today, May 18, to the blessing and inauguration of SM Supermalls’ 83rd mall and the first in the province – SM City-Bataan.

A thanksgiving Mass celebrated by Bataan Bishop Most Rev. Ruperto Santos preceded the blessing and ribbon-cutting rites presided by SM Engineering Design and Development Corp. president Hans T. Sy Jr, SM Supermalls president Steven T. Tan, Vice Gov. Cristina M. Garcia, Bishop Santos, Balanga Vice Mayor Vianca Lita Gozon, 2nd District Rep. Albert S. Garcia, SM Prime Holdings Inc. president Jeffrey C. Lim, and Super Value Inc. president Herbert T. Sy.

The two-level mall, which spans more than 46,000 square meters, is strategically located near the Bataan Terminal Complex to better serve its shoppers in the entire Bataan peninsula and other nearby provinces.

The mall is at the center of the city of Balanga, surrounded by vibrant residential areas, and a bustling university town. The mall symbolizes the fusion of urban prosperity and countryside living, and is designed to feel like a welcoming oasis, with lush greenery, comfort zones, warm timber, and natural tones.

Shops and restaurants within the mall offer a mix of local and international brands. The SM Store and SM Supermarket are SM City Bataan’s major anchors, along with SM retail affiliates such as ACE Hardware, Pet Express, Miniso, Uniqlo, Watsons, Crocs, and Sports Central. It also has global brands like Guess, Giordano, and Cotton On; and SM Cyberzone, a one-stop shop of the latest global tech finds and quality IT service hubs.

Mallgoers can also dine and enjoy homegrown brands like The Beanery, Papa Kebs, CHN Café, Chedeng’s Snack Bar, and Makiramen—as well as popular global and national food chains and specialty restaurants like Mama Lou’s Italian Kitchen (the first branch in an SM Mall), Starbucks, Breadtalk, Krispy Kreme, Mesa, and Botejyu.

The mall also has a spacious and beautifully designed Food Court with 9 choices of local and international cuisine, a health and wellness zone, banks, amusement centers for kids of all ages, 2 event screens and 3 regular cinemas, and an event center for exhibits and activities.

The mall will officially open May 19. Punto News Team with PR/Photos: Ernie Esconde
