Clark, Philippines —The recently concluded SK-PH Baseball Charity Game, held on March 22 at The Villages at Global Clark, brought together high school students from San Manuel High School in Tarlac and members of the Freestyle Baseball Team from South Korea for a day of friendly competition and camaraderie.
Organized by Chairman Shin Sung Hwan of the Freestyle Baseball Team, Principal Tito Ariola of San Manuel High School, and event coordinator Song Dong Ju, the event fostered sportsmanship, cultural exchange, and goodwill through baseball.
Principal Tito Ariola highlighted the value of the initiative, particularly for young athletes striving to improve their skills. “San Manuel is well-known for baseball because of the passion and dedication of our coaches.
From the start of the school year, they train diligently. Some of our players even go on to become scholars at universities and professional athletes,” he said. Chairman Shin expressed the Freestyle team’s dedication to supporting the school’s baseball program, saying, “Here, the players are not professionals—they have their own jobs and play baseball as a hobby. Of course, every year, we plan to return and support San Manuel High School.
This game strengthens our connection and allows us to give back.” In addition, the Freestyle Baseball Team donated essential baseball equipment, gloves, uniforms, and sacks of rice to San Manuel High School.
This year’s charity game demonstrated the shared passion for baseball and the strong bonds that continue to grow between the two communities. “Thank you for welcoming us.
We are grateful to support San Manuel and look forward to doing more charity work in the future,” Chairman Shin concluded.
