CABANATUAN CITY – A security guard is now the subject of a police manhunt after he allegedly killed a companion and wounded another at their post in a posh subdivision in Barangay H. Concepcion here shortly after midnight Sunday.
Police said suspect Joseph Tamayao, resident of Barangay Talipapa in this city, stabbed to death Billy Joe Salanga, and wounded Jaynard Manabat of Sumacab Norte, both security guards, in the vicinity of Don Jose Real Subdivision at about 1:45 a.m.
Manabat told probers that he and Salanga were sleeping at the guard house when the suspect arrived with an unspecified bladed weapon.
Tamayao reportedly hit Manabat first in his left face before stabbing hard Salanga, prompting Manabat to run for safety.
Responding policemen found Salanga lifeless “with stab wounds on different parts of his body.”
Investigators were collating CCTV footages in the area as manhunt operation is being waged against the suspect, police said.
