CABANATUAN CITY – The city government still has 100,359 residents to inoculate in order meet the 235,926 target populations set by the Department of Health for herd immunity, the city information and tourism office said on Monday.
According to the CITO, a total of 135,567 people or 57 percent of the target have been vaccinated in this city from March 19, 2021 to Nov. 27, 2021.
“Umaasa ang Lokal na Pamahalaan ng Cabanatuan na tuloy-tuloy ang supply na dadating sa mga susunod na buwan at nagpapasalamat sa pasensya at pang-unawa ng mga taga-Cabanatuan,” it said.
This developed as Mayor Myca Elizabeth Vergara appealed to residents, including those working and studying here to participate in the mass vaccination that started today.
She particularly called on senior citizens who, per their observation, had been evasive of vaccination in the past.
“Ang daming hindi bakunadong senior,” said Vergara who has been roaming around villages to oversee vaccination activities.
Vergara said the only about 18,000 from 32,000 senior citizens in the city have so far been vaccinated.
“Kailangan po namin kayo nang malakas at buhay,” she said.
