MABALACAT CITY – The Senate is set to conduct a probe into the reported presence of alleged illegal Chinese workers in Clark and other parts of the country today (Dec. 7).

The resolution was introduced by Senator Joel Villanueva directing the Committee on Labor, Employment and Human Resource Development and other appropriate committees of the Senate to inquire and review, in aid of legislation, the reported anomalies uncovered at the Fontana Leisure Parks in Clark including more than a thousand illegal aliens.

This developed as Mabalacat police chief, Supt. Juritz Rara, denied clearing “912 Chinese” arrested in the raid conducted by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) ordered by the Department of Justice (DOJ) on November 24.

Rara said he was misquoted and was just merely quoting from the report from the Public Safety Department of the Clark Development Corp. (CDC).

Meanwhile, the BI has cancelled alleged gambling tycoon Jack Lam’s Investor’s Visa and had it downgraded to Temporary Visitor’s Visa after his illegal online gaming operations involving 1,318 illegal Chinese nationals was uncovered.

In an order signed by Immigration Commissioner Jaime H. Morente, Lam is now the subject of deportation and criminal investigation.

The Subic-Clark Investor’s Visa (SCIV) issued to Lam Yin Lok also known as Jack Lam was ordered forfeited.
