Sen. Marcos doles out aid to NE women

CUYAPO, Nueva Ecija – Sen. Imee Marcos led the distribution of aid to 2,000 female Nueva Ecija residents on March 13 in connection with the celebration of Women’s Month.

She also conducted a dialogue with 18 Young Farmers Winners and members of five farmers’ cooperatives and 18 Young Farmers winners from different places of Nueva Ecija.

Marcos, dubbed as “Super Ate” for being elder sister to President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., distributed P3,000 to each beneficiary from the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program in this northern Nueva Ecija town.

Mayor Flor Esteban warmly welcomed the senator.

Marcos had previously delivered support to various farmers’ groups in the province, reports showed. These included Enhanced KADIWA Grant to Bagong Buhay ng Mabini Multi-Purpose Coop in Sto. Domingo town that received hauling truck/solar dryer worth P5 million in 2021; Simula ng Panibagong Bukas Multi-Purpose Cooperative in San Jose City with P1-million working capital; Golden Beans and Grains Producers Cooperative in Cabanatuan City with P2.5 million; Bagong Pag-Asa Farmers Association of Bongabon, Nueva Ecja with P1 million; and Kilusang Lima para sa Lahat Multi-purpose Cooperative in Talavera, Nueva Ecija worth P2.5 million.

Marcos also provided PP10 million for the construction of a multi-purpose building (evacuationcCenter) in this municipality. 

She also distributed on Monday P3,000 each to 1,000 DSWD-AICS female beneficiaries in Guimba town where she was welcomed by Mayor Jose Boyong Dizon and other local officials.
