ANGELES CITY — Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. on March 2, 2021 announced that another kiosk has opened at the One Town One Product (OTOP) store at the City Hall compound.

The second kiosk is located at the waiting shed in front of the City Hall entrance door, near General Services Office (GSO), while the first OTOP kiosk is located at the waiting area near the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).

Mayor Lazatin said the initiative resulted from an increasing demand for Angeleño products.

Executive Assistant IV Reina C. Manuel, who is also supervising the OTOP Store operations, echoed this, reiterating that the city government also wants to ensure that there is no overcrowding and that social distancing is being observed.

“Ito po ay isa ring paraan para mas matulungan ang mga partner merchants na mas makabenta ng mga produkto nila,” Manuel said.

“Ang paglalagay ng isa pang OTOP kiosk dito sa City Hall ay isa sa nakikita naming oportunidad para madoble ang kita ng mga local craftmakers,” she added.

From February 1 to present, the OTOP Store already earned P41,688, Angeles City Economic Development Investment Promotions Officer-in-Charge Irish Bonus-Llego shared.

Mayor Lazatin’s Chief Adviser and Tactician IC Calaguas encourages local Micro and Small Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and budding businesses to showcase their products at the OTOP Store.

“Tuloy-tuloy po ang programang pangkabuhayan ni Mayor  Lazatin para makatulong sa mga kapwa natin Angeleños na naapektuhan ng pandemic. Asahan po natin na mas marami pang world-class talent ang madidiskubre dito sa OTOP Angeles,” Calaguas said.

Meanwhile, Mayor Lazatin thanked the public and has called for their continuous support to the Gawang Angeleño campaign, launched in 2020, which aims to promote local products made by Angeleños, particularly the MSMEs.

Currently the OTOP’s partner merchants include Tamayuc bayong bags; JJBMS water bonsai; Cutud Weavers’ plant baskets; Stitched by RAJ hair bows; bags and purses from recycled plastics by Ferlissa; wooden kitchenwares by Wood Concept by Madison and Bel’s Woodcraft; kitchen organizers by Flores Handicrafts; capiz-made home decorations by Chilonia Fabrica; ref magnets by Lucio Sison; fashion accessories by K’s Creations; miniature ships by ADTO; metal racks by BG Metal Fabrication and hand-painted jars, fork and spoon and clay pots by Tabaks.
