BALANGA CITY (PIA) — Securities and Exchange Commission- Tarlac Extension Office (SEC-TAREO) conducted an investor education roadshow in Bataan.
A total of 100 student leaders from five campuses of the Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) participated.
SEC-TAREO Director Richard Laus underscored that the roadshow aims to raise awareness about investment scam prevention and financial literacy among the youth of Bataan.
“The SEC is very serious in its campaigns against illegal investment schemes and we will continue to work hard to fulfill our mandates of protecting the investing public,” he furthered.
SEC lawyers Ma. Theresa Reotutar and Charito Santiago discussed personal finance, proper budgeting, and identifying red flags of investment scams to assist BPSU students in safeguarding their money from investment fraud.
For her part, BPSU Director for Student Affairs and Services Khristina Anne Dimarucut-Ama expressed gratitude to the SEC for being their partner in protecting students against investment scams.
She further emphasized her anticipation of strengthening this collaboration through capacity-building programs that will cultivate financial literacy and investor protection awareness among the BPSU community. (CLJD/RPQ-PIA 3)
