The Securities and Exchange Commission–Tarlac Extension Office (SEC-TAREO) rolled out another successful run of its flagship outreach program, SEC on Wheels, bringing essential corporate regulatory services closer to businesses and organizations in Zambales. More than 40 companies and non-profit organizations from across Zambales, including clients who traveled from far-flung towns such as Sta. Cruz and Botolan were assisted during the caravan held last September 17 at Columban College, Inc. in Olongapo City.
SEC-TAREO personnel led by Director Richard R. Laus provided one-stop services including company registration, compliance with reportorial requirements, updating of corporate records, issuance of certified true copies of SEC documents, issuance of monitoring clearances, amendments of articles and by-laws and consultations on corporate governance.
For his part, Director Laus emphasized the importance of the program in bringing regulatory services closer to the grassroots level. “Our mission at SEC is not just to regulate but to serve. By bringing the SEC on Wheels caravan to Zambales, we are making our services more accessible and responsive to the needs of the business community, including those in far-flung towns who often find it difficult to travel to our offices.
This is about helping companies stay compliant, fostering good governance, and empowering organizations to grow responsibly while protecting the investing public,” Laus said.
Participants appreciated the convenience of the caravan, noting that it saved them both time and resources by bringing SEC services directly to their communities.
The activity also underscored the SEC’s continued efforts to
expand access to its services and reinforce the government’s Ease of Doing Business initiative.
As part of the activity, the SEC Tarlac also awarded a Plaque of Recognition to Columban College, Inc. for being an active partner of the Commission in bringing SEC services closer to the people and supporting its mission of fostering transparency, accountability, and inclusive development.
