MASINLOC, Zambales – Rescuers have been searching for the body of a police special action force (SAF) unit trainee who was dragged away by the river’s strong current at Sitio Coto, Barangay Taltal here.
A report from Police Major Jude Bryan B. Maguddayao, head of Masinloc Municipal Police Station, identifi ed the victim as Patrolman Melvin Anacio Durante, student of SAFCC Class 87- 2018.
The report added that the victim was attempting to cross the river to tie a rope on the other side to be utilized by the whole Combat Group 4 for their river crossing, but was carried away by a strong current and disappeared.
