GAPAN CITY – A seafarer and two farmers were arrested over indiscriminate firing of guns and creating alarm in Barangay Puting Tubig here at around 7:25 p.m. Wednesday.

Lt. Col.  Alexie Desamito, city police chief, identified the suspects as seaman Sherwin Villareal and farmers Victor Simbulan and Armando Rojo, all residents of Purok 6, Barangay Puting Tubig.

Investigation said the suspects were drinking liquor at the residence of Simbulan when they started firing indiscriminately "creating disturbance and fear to the residents."

Desamito said members of the city police's special weapons and tactics and quick response teams seized from the suspects a 12-gauge shotgun, a  .45 pistol and several rounds of ammunitions.

"Arrested suspects and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to Gapan CPS for proper disposition," Desamito said

In her report to Nueva Ecija police director Col. Jess Mendez, Desamito said charges of violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Law and Article 155 of the Revised Penal Code for alarm and scandal were being leveled against the three.
