Organizers of the Southeast Asian Games called on foreign delegation to use the Clark International Airport (CRK) in their participation in the biennial meet hosted by the Philippines this November.
Ramon Suzara, Chief Operating Officer of the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC) had encouraged delegation from neighbor countries to utilize the CRK. He made the remarks during the Broadcast and Media Conference for the 30th SEA Games at Hotel Sofitel.
“For those who are participating in sports and events under the Clark and Subic cluster, we encourage them to use Clark. There are now several international flights at that airport,” Suzara said.
Aside from the Philippines, other participating countries in the regional meet include Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Brunei, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, and Timor Leste.
`There are a total of 530 events, 56 sports and 44 venues for the SEA Games that are grouped into Metro Manila, Clark and Subic Clusters.
For Clark Cluster, the venues include the Parade Grounds, Royce Hotel, The Villages, Angeles University Foundation, Laus Event Center and the New Clark City. Subic Cluster will have Subic Gym, Lighthouse Hotel, Boardwalk area, Triboa Bay inside its Freeport
Highlighting the Clark Cluster will be the New Clark City (NCC) that will open a newly-constructed 20-000 seater Athletics Stadium, Aquatics Center and the National Government Admonistrative Center.
This will be also the first time that Philippines will be having brand new 2,100-bed Athletes Village at NCC for the regional sports meet.
CRK has a total of 734 domestic and regional flights per week to 40 destinations.
A new terminal is being built to enable it to accommodate 8 million passengers annually.
