BALANGA CITY – The division of city schools in Balanga held its first Kindergarten Festival of Talents to show the readiness of children in the implementation of the K + 12 program of the Department of Education.
“We conducted this activity, the first in Bataan and the city divisions of schools, to show our support to DepEd’s K + 12 program,” said Lorna V. Guinto, education supervisor for values program.
Guinto, who is also division coordinator for kindergarten, said the batch of kindergarten pupils will be the first to attend the K + 12, a new program of DepEd that increases the number of years of schooling in elementary and secondary schools aimed at improving the quality of education in the country.
She said that that this is in line with the education program of City Mayor Jose Enrique Garcia III.
There are 1,602 children aged 5 supervised by 39 teachers in kindergarten schools in 25 villages in the city.
The children showed their talents in story-telling, vocal solo, creative dance, nursery rhyme, drawing and chambertheater.
Teachers and parents cheered heavily for the children.
