SAMAL, Bataan: A public elementary school in Barangay Sta. Lucia here held a two-day 2025 school backyard camping from January 17 to 18 for young members of the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of the Philippines.
Organizers said volunteer students from kinder to Grade 6 of the Samal South Elementary School experienced different activities that enhanced leadership skills in scouting and develop camaraderie.
The participants undertook obstacle courses like “pagtulay sa kawayan, paggapang sa putik, pagpasok sa gulong habang gumagapang.” The children also participated in the camp fire, “laro ng lahi”, flag folding and other activities.
They slept for a night under tents set-up in the school ground under the watchful eyes of teachers and GSP and BSP officials. (30)
