BALANGA City: The Bataan Police Provincial Office remembered the heroic sacrifice of SAF 44 10 years ago  in a simple but meaningful program at Camp Cirilo Tolentino here   on Saturday, January 25.

Bataan police director Col. Palmer Tria led the ceremony in the province observed by the Philippine National Police nationwide with the theme “Courage Beyond Measure: Remembering the Heroic Sacrifice of SAF 44 for Peace.”

The widow, Raechel,  and only child, Jaden,  of PSSg John Lloyd Sumbilla were honored in the program.

Raechel gave birth to Jaden more than  three months after her husband was killed in Mamasapano. Jaden delivered a heartfelt message during the program.

“The Bataan PNP proudly honors the gallantry and heroism of the SAF 44, whose sacrifice exemplifies exceptional courage and dedication in the service of peace and security,” Tria said.

“In 2015, PSSg Sumbilla, a native of Samar who built his family in Morong, Bataan, together with his fellow troopers, made the ultimate sacrifice during a critical mission to capture an international terrorist in their sincere effort to protect the safety and stability of our nation,” PD Tria concluded.
