Asked if he would announce his “historic” declaration in the historic province of Bataan about his running for President with many eagerly waiting, a laughing Roxas answered “Ako man, nasasabik din sa deklarasyon!” He evaded other questions about his political plan and instead focused on the distribution of patrol vehicles in 1,490 towns in the country.
“Lahat bibigyan, walang pinipili, walang partido, pantay-pantay na bibigyan ang lahat ng bayan ng sasakyan,” the DILG secretary said here.
He said that the brand new vehicles will be used, first, for police patrol; second, in times of emergency like accident in bringing victims or even pregnant women to give birth in hospitals and third, to ferry relief goods and evacuees in times of calamities.
In Bataan, Roxas handed the keys of patrol vehicles to 10 municipal mayors. “Inuuna natin ang mga bayan kesa siyudad dahil ang mga siyudad ay may kakayahang bumili ng gamit nila,” he said.
