CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—Rotary Clubs under Cluster 4A of Rotary International District 3790 have begun rolling out relief goods to families affected by recent flooding in Pampanga, as part of a broader response effort across North Luzon.
The first wave of relief reached Barangay Sta. Lucia in this capital city where 200 families received food packs consisting of rice, canned goods, noodles, and biscuits.
Distribution was held at the Sta. Lucia Parish Church and facilitated by barangay chairman Roland David, who led the organized release of stubs to identified beneficiaries.
The initiative is a joint project of 11 Rotary Clubs within the cluster, led by assistant governor Carla Espinosa: Rotary Club of Central Pampanga, Rotary Club of Dolores, Rotary Club of Eastern Pampanga, Rotary Club of Greater Floridablanca, Rotary Club of Metro San Fernando (P), Rotary Club of Pampanga Cosmopolitan, Rotary Club of San Fernando Pampanga, Rotary Club of San Fernando Cabalen, Rotary Club of Southern Pampanga, Rotary Club of Villa de Bacolor, and Rotary Club of Western Pampanga.
“These are critical times for many families in Pampanga, and we are here to extend help where it is most needed,” said Espinosa. “Rotary is about people of action—and today, that action is solidarity.”
Relief efforts will continue on July 29 in the flood-ravaged coastal communities of Caduang Tete and San Gabriel in Macabebe, and Bebe Matua in Masantol.
These areas, among the hardest hit by monsoon rains, will see 500 families receive relief packages in the next phase of the distribution.
This cluster-driven effort is part of a larger relief mobilization led by Rotary International District 3790 governor Dan Torres, who earlier issued a call for assistance to all nearly 100 clubs under the district. The district-wide campaign is focused on responding swiftly to the widespread impact of seasonal flooding across Central and North Luzon.
