Rotary Clubs from SK, PH launch $99-K water project in Pampanga

FLORIDABLANCA, Pampanga – A $99,000 water project has been launched in Barangay Nabuclod here by the Rotary International District 3750 (Korea) and District 3790 (Philippines), Dubbed Global Grant Project No. 2569386, the initiative aimed at improving water access and sanitation in the area will comprise a water pump, filtration system, and comfort rooms for Camachile Elementary School. Additionally, the project will install water lines extending to nearby Aeta communities.

Leading the groundbreaking ceremony were president Maureen Gueco of the Rotary Club of Dolores (District 3790) and president Seo Dong Wook of the Rotary Club of Saesongtan (District 3750).

As part of the event, they also handed over 300 hygiene kits to local residents, with a focus on the indigenous Aeta population.

“This project embodies Rotary’s commitment to basic sanitation and hygiene, especially in underserved areas,” said Gueco during the ceremony.

Funded through Rotary’s Global Grant mechanism and the collaborative efforts of both districts, the project is expected to be completed within six to eight months.

Upon completion, it will benefit hundreds of students and families in the upland community, offering cleaner, safer water and improved sanitation facilities. Press release
