CITY OF MALOLOS — To further strengthen the relationship between Korea and Filipino tourists, the Korea MICE (Meeting, Incentives Conferences and Exhibition) roadshow 2023 was held anew in the country last Sept. 1.
The roadshow reintroduced the riches of Korean culture, festivals and heritage sites, and made a display of comic martial arts performance at the Makati World Hotel hosted by the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) for different travel agencies in the country.
KTO senior vice president James Lee noted that it has become so popular among Filipinos to visit Korea on account of the influence of K-Pop and K Drama, that they want to personally experience Korean culture such as Korean food, Korean beauty, and sceneries.
Lee said that more than 500,000 Filipinos visit Korea every year, making the highest tourist arrivals from Southeast Asia.
The KTO expects that this year tourists from all over the world will flock under the “Visit Korea Year” program.
One of the popular tourist destinations in Korea today is the Blue House, which has not been seen by tourists for 70 years and was opened in May 2022.
The Blue House or Cheong Wa Dae is a public park that once served as the executive office and official residence of the president of South Korea from 1948 to 2022 located in the Jongno district of the South Korean capital Seoul.
