PILAR, Bataan — A motorcycle rider died when he was run over by a tanker truck after his motorcycle was hit by the vehicle along the Roman Highway in Barangay Ala-uli here near midnight of Friday.
Maj. Dennis Revillas, Pilar police chief, identified the fatality as Reymart Tiambeng, 28, of Barangay Bilolo, Orion, Bataan.
Relatives said victim was on the way home after accompanying his wife to work in Balanga City.
Police said the motorcycle and the tanker driven by Joseph Revilla of Canlubang, Laguna were travelling in the same direction from Balanga City to Orion (north to south of Bataan) when the accident happened at 11:30 in the evening.
The motorcycle was at the slow lane, at the rightmost part of the six-lane highway while the tanker was traversing the middle lane when the small vehicle allegedly swerved to the left and was hit by the truck.
The victim was thrown out of his motorcycle and was run over by the tanker, sustaining fatal head and body injuries, police said.
Police said investigation was still going on with the tanker driver under the custody of the Pilar municipal police station.
