BALANGA CITY — The construction of bike lanes and rest stops is ongoing along the seven-kilometer road to the Shrine of Valor or Dambana ng Kagitingan at historic Mt. Samat in Pilar, Bataan.

Albert Garcia on Thursday.

He explained that the projects are part of Phase 2 of the Mt. Samat Road Development Project aimed at constructing bike lane and sidewalk in the historical area for safety and convenience of the public.

Garcia said Phase 1 of the project has been finished where a bike lane and sidewalk were constructed in two kilometers of the road to the war memorial shrine.

The former governor said the fast start of construction of Phase 2 was made possible through the cooperation of the Department of Public Works and Highways, office of the Bataan congressional district 2, provincial government of Bataan, and Mt. Samat Flagship Tourism Enterprise Zone (FTEZ) of the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA).
