SAN FELIPE, Zambales – In partnership with volunteer organizations and local government agencies, the San Felipe Resort Owner Association (SanFeROA) initiated a cleanup drive along the shoreline of Sitio Liwliwa Barangay Sto. Niño here over the weekend.
Aimed to “engage tourists and locals in trash-free beaches and waterways,” the cleanup received the full support of the San Felipe local government led
by Mayor Reinhard Esquillo Jeresano together with the Philippine National Police, the municipal disaster risk reduction and management office, Philippine Coast Guard, Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo, and barangay officials.
With its pristine beach coastline, amazing sunset view, and surfing site, Sitio Liwliwa is a booming tourist destination in Zambales. Thus, the need for everyone to maintain its cleanliness.
SanFeROA has set a cleanup drive every Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
Dr. Rowie Medina, owner of Agos ng Liwa, one of the active participating resorts in the cleanup, said “now more than ever is the time to take care of the environment”
“We are blessed with beautiful beaches and its up to us on how we take care and give back to nature’s blessings,” she added, appealing to all residents and tourists to dispose of their waste properly and support the cleanup campaign. Johnny Reblando/Ning Cordero
