NOT THE first but unarguably the largest government-owned and -operated hemodialysis center in Pampanga is that at the Mexico Community Hospital.

Constructed at the cost of P70 million through local government funds and advanced tax payments of SM Prime Holdings Inc., the renal care center has 24 brand new dialysis machines and accessory equipment to serve 96 patients per day.

Open to all needing dialysis, services are free to Mexico residents while non-residents will pay only half of the P1,300 fee, the other half to be subsidized by the local government.

The P300 injectible though will be shouldered by the patient.

Enthused with the “commendable effort” of Mayor Teddy Tumang to address the medical needs not only of his constituents but any other in similar straits, acting Gov. Dennis G. Pineda is pushing for a memorandum of agreement with the LGU for the Capitol to provide subsidy to the center. Mabuhay Mayor Tumang.

Good act, Gov. Delta.
