CABANATUAN CITY – Christmas shoppers be advised.
Several huge establishments, particularly malls, here have joined the local government in the implementation of QR code as contact tracing measure to contain the spread of coronavirus disease starting Wednesday, Dec 16.
Aside from mallgoers, clients of the power retailer Cabanatuan Electric Corp. or Celcor also have to present QR code when entering its offices.
In an announcement, the city government said QR code can be generated by clicking https://www.cabanatuancity.gov.ph:2020/#/ using cellular phones.
The city government has actually started the use of QR Code in all transactions at the city hall on Nov. 4, it was learned.
“Magkakaroon rin ng registration booth sa harap ng city hall para sa mga kliyenteng wala pang QR code, walang cellphone o mayroong cellphone ngunit walang camera o walang kapasidad na makapag-internet. Magdala lamang ng inyong government issued valid ID para sa verification ng inyong impormasyon,” said the LGU in an earlier announcement.
This developed as the city government led by Mayor Myca Elizabeth Vergara continues to battle Covid-19 through continuous mass rapid testing. Those who test positive are immediately swabbed and quarantined.
The city is currently distributing food assistance consisting 10 kilos of rice and sardines with three pieces of face shields to each of some 120,000 families here.
