‘Pusher’ killed in drug ops

BOTOLAN, Zambales – A suspected drug pusher was killed when he engaged policemen in a firefight during a drug operation at Sitio Bucao, Barangay Carael here.

In his report to Zambales Police Provincial Office director, Col. Ponce Rogelio Peñones, Jr., Police Major Daniel Fakat, head of Botolan PNP, identified the suspect as Benigno Pelayo, alias Noynoy, resident of the said place.

Report said joint elements of Botolan PNP, Provincial Intelligence Branch, headed by Lt. Col. Leonardo Madrid, and 305th RMFB3 were conducting a drug buy-bust when the suspect sensed that the buyer was a police officer, and opened fire prompting the latter to return fire that killed the suspect.

Recovered from the scene one sachet of shabu used in the buy-bust, two other sachets of shabu, one .38 revolver with four bullets and one fired cartridge, five opened sachets containing traces of shabu, the P1,000 marked money, one lighter, and two fired cartridge case of 9mm.
