CABANGAN, Zambales – A suspected drug pusher was killed, while his cohort eluded arrest in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Sto Nino here.
Zambales Police Provincial Office director Col. Ponce Rogelio Peñones, Jr. identified the fatality as Christian Abenoja, of San Antonio, Zambales. His unidentified cohort managed to escape.
Reports said elements of Cabangan Municipal Police Station headed by Police Lt. Jhon Jeff erson B. Delos Reyes were conducting the buy-bust when Abenoja sensed he was transacting with a police undercover agent and immediately drew his firearm and fired at the poseur-buyer, which prompted the cops to return fire resulting to the suspect’s instantaneous death.
Reports added that Abenoja was involved in illegal drugs peddling, series of robbery incidents, and carnapping of motorcycles in San Antonio and nearby municipalities. Police said he had pending warrant of arrest for motor theft in Botolan and San Narciso both in Zambales.
