CLARK FREEPORT — Punto! Central Luzon marked its 18th anniversary with a cybersecurity forum in Clark Freeport, bringing together journalists, stakeholders, and partners to confront scams and misinformation in the digital age.
Participants from various sectors joined the training session on December 12 at Consuelo Restaurant by Chef Vince Garcia aimed at strengthening safeguards against fraud and promoting media literacy.
Punto! Editor Caesar “Bong” Lacson highlighted the role of local media in protecting truth.
“Stop scams, stop misinformation. It’s time for the truth,” he said.
Scam Watch Pilipinas Founder Jocel de Guzman presented the PH Anti-Scam Quad Model, a framework recognized globally for promoting digital vigilance. He emphasized the importance of fostering a culture of verification to counter falsehoods online.
“It’s important to have this conversation so people can conduct themselves carefully,” de Guzman added.
