CLARK FREEPORT — This Freeport continues to be a preferred cycling destination in the country as it recently played host to over 4000 cycling participants who took part in the exciting return of the 1st leg of PRURide Philippines on May 21 at the Clark Global City here.
Clark Development Corporation (CDC) President and CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera, emphasized the significance of events like PRURide Philippines in showcasing Clark’s readiness for MICECon 2024. She cited how these events solidify Clark as a leading choice for future MICE activities, contributing to its continuous growth and appeal as a thriving business and tourism hub.
“We can see that the success of events like PRURide Philippines indicates our journey towards MICECon 2024. These initiatives not only contribute to a healthier community but also highlight Clark as a premier destination for sports and events. We look forward to hosting more exciting events that will further solidify our position as a top choice for MICE activities in the years to come,” Devanadera said.
Cycling enthusiasts of all ages came together for an inclusive event that catered to different skill levels and preferences. Participants had the option to choose from various distances, including the 30-kilometer, 60-kilometer, and 100-kilometer Gran Fondo categories. Families also enjoyed their own adventure with the 5-kilometer Family Fun Ride.
PRURide advocates including Gretchen Ho, Kim Atienza, Zoren Legaspi, as well as prominent personalities like Senator JV Ejercito, Anthony Sunday, and Sponge Cola, were among the participants who joined the event.
Aligned with PruLife UK’s 175th anniversary, PRURide Philippines commemorates a century of PruLife’s steadfast presence in Asia, according to Eng Teng Wong, President and CEO of Pru Life UK. Wong said the event serves as a platform to highlight the company’s impact and engagement within the community.
Wong expressed his excitement about the return of PRURide Philippines and emphasized that the event goes beyond being just a cycling event. It highlights the commitment to promoting health and wellness.

Pru Life UK has announced the comeback of PRURide Philippines, the country’s largest cycling festival, after a two-year pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The second leg of PRURide Philippines 2023 is scheduled for May 28 at CCLEX Food Park in Cebu.
