PALAYAN CITY – A PDP-Laban mayoralty bet launched the first star-studded rally in this capital city of Nueva Ecija on Thursday night.
The 25-year-old Vianne Cuevas and her entire line-up were presented before approximately 17,000 people at the baseball field here in between special numbers from homegrown talents and movie and television personalities.
She was introduced by her mother third-termer Mayor Adrianne Mae Cuevas in the proclamation that was attended by party stalwarts that included reelectionist Nueva Ecija 3rd District Rep. Ria Vergara, former vice governor Edward Thomas Joson who is running for the same post, and reelectionist board members EJ Joson and Joso Matias.
On top of rappers, singers and dancers, the proclamation rally was capped by performances from Moon of Desire lead Meg Imperial and matinee idol McCoy De Leon of It’s Showtime’s Hashtag dance group.
Cuevas who went home from abroad to help her family in delivering assistance to constituents at the height of pandemic vowed to upscale infrastructure, health, education, and social services programs.
“Ang laki ng ipinagbago ng Palayan City. Ang laki ng ikinaganda ng Palayan City. At tulong-tulong nating pinaganda ang Palayan City dahil po sa suporta niyo po,” Cuevas said noting that roads used to be too rough and unlit prior to her mother’s stint.
“Gusto ko pong magserbisyo sa inyo bilang mayor niyo po kasi gusto ko po na lalo nating ipaganda yung Palayan City,” she added.
