BALANGA CITY — Bataan Bishop Ruperto Santos on Friday announced that he has composed a special prayer for local government officials to guide them in their battle against coronavirus disease and which will be recited during the live streaming of Holy Masses.
The prelate has prepared series of prayers after Covid-19 began to affect the province. With the death of already two people from the virus, Santos said he decided to make a prayer especially for government leaders in Bataan.
The prayer reads:
“O Almighty God and merciful Father, we are grateful that we can come to You when we are in need. The threat of Covid–19 is now in our province. We humbly approach your throne and ask that You stop this pandemic.
Help us to overcome all our fears and anxieties and enable us to walk in faith.
We pray for the leaders of our country, particularly those who rule our local government. We lift up to You our Governor Abet Garcia, all the mayors and the rest of our local government units.
Give them the wisdom and protection for effective leadership during this time of crisis. Help them to keep their eyes focus on You and grant them the discernment to rule according to Your will throughout this pandemic.
Protect their positions in You Lord and may Your powerful hands hold their lives. Let no harm fall upon them and their families.
Let our Blessed Mother Mary whom we lovingly invoke here as Our Virgen Milagrosa del Rosario del Pueblo de Orani keep them always under her maternal care and embrace.
Let our patron St. Joseph guide and make them like him, faithful and firm guardian of the Church of our beloved Bataan.
We thank You O loving God that Your grace and mercy are boundless and are always available to us. All glory is Yours forever and ever! In Jesus’ most precious name, we pray. Amen.”
