CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The health of pregnant women here took center stage in the continuing celebration of Women’s Month by the provincial government with the extension of medical services and food assistance to hundreds of expectant mothers here.

Vice Gov. Lilia “Nanay” Pineda and former board member Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab led the activity at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center that comprised educational sessions to equip mothers with vital information on prenatal care, proper nutrition, breastfeeding, pregnancy complications, mental health, and family planning.

Teams from the provincial health office, Department of Health, doctors, nurses, and barangay volunteers conducted medical services including laboratory tests to monitor the health of pregnant women.

Essential provisions such as ferrous sulfate, rice, cash assistance, hygiene kits, and other necessities were also distributed to further support their needs.

In addition, participants received nutritious food supplies, including milk powder drinks (Anmum), mushroom soup, and pasta, to help ensure proper maternal nutrition.
