This was admitted by city police director Senior Supt. Pierre Bucsit during the regular Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) session on Tuesday.
Bucsit said they have yet to file charges against the suspects in the killing of businessman Arwind Ting of this city last December, businessman and part-time disc jockey Heherson Punzalan of nearby City of San Fernando on January 18 and 21-year-old Joven Deala of nearby Porac town on February 3. Deala is the brother of Allan Pineda of Barangay Sapang Bato here, also known as Apl.de.Ap of Black Eyed Peas.
The police chief was invited by the city council led by Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting to shed light on the “alarming murders” involving prominent personalities.
But Bucsit said they have identified the suspects in the murder of Punzalan, who was killed while driving his car in Barangay Sto. Domingo on his way home. He added that they are just waiting for some documents before filing the charges against the suspects.
Bucsit said they had ruled out robbery in the killing of Ting, who was also in his car when shot to death by two people riding in tandem in a motorcycle. They earlier said robbery could be the motive behind the murder of Ting as threw his gold bracelet at the back of his car before he was shot.
Bucsit said the suspects had followed the suspects from the point of his origin before he was killed.
Bucsit said they have yet to pin down the suspects in the killing of Deala. He added that Deala’s girlfriend, Ellaine Torres, was the only witness to the crime.
